This optional DualProtection Filter for the Blueair model 205, in addition to removing particles also removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs), gaseous irritants, and odors coming from smoke, pets, and cooking, thanks to an additional filter layer containing high porosity coconut carbon.

These next-generation advanced carbon filters work up to 4 times faster than other charcoal filters, to achieve the ultimate removal of particles, gases, and odors.

DualProtection Filters for the Blueair model 205 air cleaner contain activated carbon for use in rooms where there are gaseous pollutants such as tobacco smoke, odors, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They are an optional upgrade for the standard Particle Filter that comes in the Blueair 205.  In addition to the allergen particle-trapping abilities of standard Blueair Particle filters, these DualProtection filters contain a layer of coconut carbon to trap gaseous substances and annoying odors. Replace every 6 months. Note that no air filter can eliminate all hazardous contaminants of second-hand smoke.
