Pets can also be allergic to dust mites. Atopic dermatitis in pets is an intensely itchy skin inflammation, usually resulting from an allergic reaction to dust mites. As with allergic humans, their largest source of dust mite exposure is their own bed. Mission: Allergy's Allergy Approved® pet beds contain an allergen-barrier made of Mission: Allergy® Premium Microfiber, which prevents exposure of the pet's skin to dust mite allergen from its bed.

IMPORTANT: These pet beds are NOT for people who are allergic to their pets. They are for pets who are themselves allergic to dust mites, or for people who are allergic to dust mites and wish to avoid exposure to the dust mite allergen present in a typical pet bed.

Atopic dermatitis in dogs and cats is an intensely itchy skin inflammation, which is usually caused by allergy. The most important cause is an allergic reaction to an allergen produced by house dust mites, microscopic creatures that are plentiful in soft materials such as beds and carpets. The primary source of exposure to dust mite allergen for most pets is in their beds. Mission: Allergy's Allergy Approved® pet beds contain an inner allergen-barrier made of Mission: Allergy® Premium Microfiber, which surrounds the soft filling and prevents colonization by dust mites. It also prevents any dust mite allergen in the bed from reaching the pet's skin.

The outer cover, with your choice of a Nylon or Quilted Polyester top, should be removed and washed every 1-2 weeks to remove any accumulated surface allergen. All beds are well cushioned (suitable for use as orthopedic pet beds), have side vents for air passage, and feature long side zippers for easy removal of the outer washable cover.

Pet Beds are available in Blue or Tan. All bottoms are made of Super-Durable Nylon. Choose a top of Super-Durable Nylon or Super-Soft Polyester Quilting. Made in USA.

Note that if the pet is allowed in the owner's bed, the pillows and mattress of that bed should also be encased in allergen-barrier encasings.
